About ten years ago we decided to move closer to the ocean. And that was the beginning of my husband’s and my absolute love of cruising! I’m an introvert, though, and was not sure how much I’d enjoy cruising with it’s endless parties and noise.

So, we started out small. We had a friend who cruised constantly, and he suggested the Carnival Fantasy out of Charleston, SC as our trial cruise. That sounded good to me, and the prices were excellent at that time for a short 5 day cruise to the Bahamas. So, we booked it. As we anxiously awaited the cruise, we got our passport photos done at Walgreens, then to the Post Office to order our very first ever passport. Did we need one, probably not, but we wanted one because it meant excitement. I was so nervous my first cruise, but before long, I was in love with cruising. And I found out that you don’t have to be a party person to enjoy it. There is plenty to do for us introverts that will not wear us out.
Since then, we’ve been on many cruises, mostly on Carnival, but we’re now branching out to Royal Caribbean. We’ve cruised on Freedom of the Seas and on Oasis of the Seas. A few years ago in April we sailed on Empress of the Seas on a cruise to Cuba. We last sailed on the MSC Meraviglia, which was probably our least favorite cruise. Since then we’ve had a few cancellations because of that crazy virus, but we do have two cruises scheduled for the next year. Come along for the ride!
